千秋太后と口論の末、居合わせたチヤンに弓を放った穆宗。千秋太后は、穆宗との溝を修復できず頭を悩まします。千秋太后の政策で軍事力ばかりが強化されたことに不満を抱く臣僚たちは、千秋太后を摂政から退かせようと穆宗による親政を迫ります。しかし、当の穆宗は酒色に溺れて自暴自棄になり、ついには大良院君へ譲位して宮殿を出たいと口走るのでした。そんな状況のなか、心労が重なり寝込んだ千秋太后。ところが侍医が告げた診断結果は予想に反し…。
